Vol. 1, No. 8 A Just for Fun
July 4, 2022
Happy July 4! What a great day to celebrate our great nation. Here's a fun fact from my Constitution Q&A book: The name of our country, The United States of America comes directly from the Declaration of Independence. The second Continental Congress started using the name officially on September 9, 1776.
An Excellent Essay: William Bennett wrote an opinion piece, "The Hard Truths of American History," in the Wall Street Journal this week. I recommend reading it here.
A History Quotation for Today: "History is not history unless it is the truth." -- Abraham Lincoln
READING: I'm currently reading the most recent installment in the Outlander series, To Tell the Bees That I am Gone, by Diana Gabaldon. I realized that the novel takes place about an hour from where I now live. That makes it even more fun.
