An Amazing Conference Experience
April 7, 2023
I just returned from the Great Homeschool Convention in Greenville, South Carolina. What an amazing experience. I met dozens of homeschool parents committed to finding the best resources for their children. We talked books, and since I was working at the Chicken Scratch Books booth, I was able to promote traditional middle-grade novels designed for readers age 8-14, published by Chicken Scratch. These books, including my own -- A Kidnapping in Kentucky, 1776 -- promote traditional values without coarse language or a social agenda designed to subvert family values. These parents were seeking good literature. Other vendors supported these values, as well. I enjoyed talking with the folks from Green Ember, a series of books about brave bunnies who fight for good, Brave Books, promoting pro-God and pro-American values, and the Tuttle Twins series, which promotes an understanding of basic American values. I love talking about books with people who care! Visit Chicken Scratch Books.

Upcoming Events:
April 13-15 -- I'll be at the Great Homeshool Convention in Ohio
May 19-20 -- I'll be presenting at the Children's Festival of Reading, sponsored by the Knoxville (TN) Pulbic Library
For writers - I met several young people at the conference who are interested in writing. An excellent blog for them to follow is the Jerry Jenkins blog. He provides excellent tips for all writers.
